WESTERN MARYLAND In Pictures
This 36-page edition takes a look back at the Western Maryland Railway immediately following their 100 Year Anniversary Celebration ... 1852 - 1952. Steam was still prevalent and brand new EMD and ALCO diesels were now in the mix, hauling coal and merchandise to and from the WM's Port Covington.
Black & white photos show off the Western Maryland's rail system at Port Covington, Hagerstown Yard, across the mainline to Cumberland and Connellsville and on the line to Elkins.
See how the Western Maryland really was back in the early 1950s, decades before the Chessie System takeover that eventually saw it all disappear during the nation's bicentennial year.
This book is a reproduction from the 22-page, 10.5" x 14" paperback original.
